Skills Development Programme for Military Veterans

The Department of Military Veterans Skills Development Service Delivery Programme, is currently underway in Sedibeng at the Vereeniging Banquet Hall, on the 5th of February 2024.

The objective of the programme is to accelerate service delivery and address administration and systematic challenges within the programme of skills development application. The implementation of the programme is done in district municipalities within provinces, with the aim of taking services closer to deserving military veterans.

This Department’s mandate is to facilitate access to training and development intervention to military veterans and their dependents. This is delivered through agreements with SETA’s, private service providers as well as other government departments. The DMV also facilitates recognition of Prior Learning, for transferability of skills attained for the empowerment of military veterans.

The focus of this programme will be in three provinces namely Gauteng, Kwa Zulu Natal and North West. The remaining provinces will be visited in the new financial year starting April 2024. The Department calls on all military veterans to bring their skills development applications to the workshop for approval.

Applicants will be informed of the programme in their districts in advance through bulk smses, mobi-posters and newly created email addresses for responses.

The following documents should accompany the application form:
  • Central supplier database printout (from the institution)
  • Quotation for Tuition fees
  • Proof of Accreditation of institution
  • Certified ID copy

  • 5—6 February 2024 – Vereeniging Banquet Hall,
  • 7—8 February – Germiston Banquet Hall,
  • 9—12 February – IEC Hall Randwest Municipality,
  • 13—14 February – Naledi Community Hall & Fleurhof Lifestyle Estate Ext 37,
  • 15—16 February – Sammy Marks Square Old Council Chamber
