Director-General to address military veterans

The Director General of the Department of Military Veterans Mr Tsepe Motumi will address 120 members of the Council of Military Veterans Organisations (CMVO) about socio-economic benefits and the establishment of the Umbrella Association stipulated in the Military Veterans Act 18.2011 as well as the process towards the establishment of the Umbrella Association for Military Veterans. The consultative conference is taking place in Gauteng at the Birchwood Hotel-Ekurhuleni starting at 09:00am.

Meanwhile in Cape Town, there will be a military parade of the South African Coloured Corps (SACC) as well as the issuing of Military Veterans uniform taking place in Khayelitsha at 10:00am. It will be addressed by Mr Jali the Chief Director for Beneficiary Support Service in the Department of Military Veterans.

“We are consulting with Military Veterans across the country as part of the preparation to establish an umbrella association which is to take place on the 28 September to the 01 October 2013 at Birchwood Hotel-Kempton Park. The consultations are meant to ensure that the process of establishing an umbrella association is fair, transparent, accountable and inclusive of all Military Veterans across the spectrum” said the D-G.

These consultative workshops also took place with former Transkei, Bophuthatswana, Venda, Ciskei Military Veterans and AZANLA MVA.
