The Deputy Minister of Defence & Military Veterans Mr Kebby Maphatsoe, together with the Acting Director General of the Department of Military Veterans Mr Max Ozinsky, will brief the media about the Department’s 2016/17 Annual Report audit outcomes.The annual report indicated that the Auditor General of South Africa has for the first time made an unqualified audit finding on the Department of Military Veterans.
The Department tabled its Annual Report to the members of the portfolio committee on Defence & Military Veterans who have noted the significant achievements made by the DMV after having had a disclaimer and a qualified audit finding in the last three financial years.A significant achievement has also been made in the delivery of education support as well as social relieve of distress for the most destitute military veterans. The Deputy Minister and the Acting Director General will also brief the media and stakeholders about the progress made in the various programmes to support military veteran’s as well as plans to accelerate delivery.
