Minister to Lead Pre-Budget Vote Debate Media Briefing

The Minister of Defence and Military Veterans, Hon. Nosiviwe Mapisa-Nqakula - MP, will tomorrow lead a pre-budget vote debate media briefing, to unpack the priority focus areas for the financial year 2016/17.
Among the critical areas the Minister will be reporting on are the following:
- The implementation of the DEFENCE REVIEW 2015 (Milestone 1)
- Border Safeguarding
- Peace keeping/enforcement
- African Capacity for Immediate Response to Crises (ACIRIC)
- SANDF withdrawal from Sudan (Darfur)
- Maritime Operations
- Effects of Budget Cuts on the DoD
- Military Ombud
- Armscor
- Defence Force Service Commission
- Operation Phakisa
- Military Veterans
The pre-budget vote media briefing will take place as follows:
