The Deputy Minister of Defence and Military Veterans Mr Kebby Maphatsoe is embarking on a Northern Cape road show which is aimed at improving the lives of Military Veterans. The road show will be taking place on the 08 May 2016 at Mittah Seperepere Convention Centre.
The Department is in the process to clean up the military veterans’ database, to check and verify military veterans details on the database and assist with new applications. The Skills Development and Empowerment unit will deliver successful applications of military veterans as well as assistance with new applications. There will be business support officials on site to support military veterans’ who are interested in starting businesses . The Department’s Health and Wellness unit willalso assist military veterans with issues relating to healthcare and military veterans’ housing queries will be addressed by the Department.
More than 600 military veterans from MKMVA, SACCMVA, APLA, AZANLA, BDF and CMVO in the province are expected to attend the roadshow.
The Department of Military Veterans aims to establish a dignified, unified, empowered and self-sufficient military veteran’s community, regardless of their geographical stands. The issue of reaching out to remote areas where military veterans that need the department most, has always been part of the staff meeting at the communications unit.
We call upon all military veterans and our stakeholders to work together with us, as we seek to honour, restore dignity and empower military veterans for nation building and the building of a better life for all.
