The verification process of Military Veterans in Middelburg

03 June  2014

The Department of Military Veterans will commence the verification process of Military Veterans at the 4 SAI Military Base, Middleburg-Mpumalanga.

The verification process commenced in Mpumalanga in Nelspruit, on the 19th May 2014 wherein Military Veterans from APLAMVA, MKMVA and AZANLAMVA were verified by a panel of expert established by the Department of Military Veterans.

The focus of the verification is primarily on the members of the Azanian National Liberation Movement (AZANLA) which did not take part in the integration process in 1994 and its members are not in the Certified Personnel Register (CPR). To be verified, Military Veterans must bring along their ID's, biographies as well service certificate or letters from their associations.

This phase of verification commenced in North West and will be rolled out in all provinces up to December 2014. The Department of Military Veterans urges the South African Military Veterans Association, Military Veterans organizations and individual Military Veterans to assist in making sure that all Military Veterans who are not in the database are encouraged to use this opportunity as this will enable them and their dependents to access military benefits stipulated in the Military Veterans Act 18 0f 2011.
