The Palm Ridge Housing Development project, worth R125 million, is a collaborative effort between the national and provincial Departments of Military Veterans, Human Settlement, both national and provincial and the City of Ekurhuleni. The commitment was made by the Gauteng MEC for Human Settlements in the 2018/19 financial year, to deliver more than 600 houses to military veterans in the area. The Department of Military Veterans, will also use this housing project to pilot military veterans construction companies, for jobs and empowerment opportunities.

The delivery of military veterans houses is a priority focus for the Department of Military Veterans and Military Veterans who are in need of housing support, should communicate with their various associations or contact the Department of Military Veterans to ensure that they are in the database.

The Department seeks to bring honour and dignity to many military veterans who have since lost hope of recognition, for their contribution in the struggle for freedom in this country.
