More houses for Military Veterans in the Eastern Cape

Members of the media are invited to a media briefing by the Acting Director General of the Department of Military Veterans Lt.General (Retd) Derrick Mgwebi, on the progress made in the acceleration of housing delivery for destitute military veterans, on the 20th November 2019, at the HDA building in Newton Park.

The Acting DG will visit Nelson Mandela Bay Metro, where he is going to put a programme in place to fastrack the delivery of 491 houses at Chetty 491. He will proceed to Lukhanji in Queenstown on the 21st November, where 200 houses are being built for military veterans. His last stop is the OR Tambo Region, where 40 houses are being built in Umthatha. The DG will also brief military veterans about programmes that are put in place for skills development, business support, healthcare and education support.
